Fez Jay's Monogram Logo Project
The objective for this project was to create a logo from two letters that were randomly assigned to us. Script, Novelty, or Display fonts were not allowed and we preformed research beforehand to identity our target market and deliver a monogram logo that would attract our target market.
Thumbnail Sketches
First, I went to the drawing board and sketched 48+ thumbnail sketches in order to nail down the best design concept. Here are some of the best thumbnail sketches that helped lead to the final result.
Fonts
Here are some of the fonts that helped inspire the final design. I used Broadway as the base for the vector monogram iterations.
Vector Monogram Iterations
Next, with the help of the Broadway font, I sized up the letters to match my thumbnail sketches and trimmed each letter because I found that Broadway was too thick. Then I made 50+ iterations with different layouts and designs. I also color inverted each iteration to experiment with negative space.
Final Monogram Result
After more experimenting, I chose a final design and gave it some color. To give it character I separated and thickened lines, rounded corners, and gave it more form with a circle boarder.

Mockups and Monogram Variation
Using photoshop I made the final monogram logo into a neon sign on a brick wall that you might see outside of a restaurant. Finally, I presented the monogram logo through various different mockups like t-shirts and hats.
